Accounting Manager – Downtown New Orleans

We need an Accounting Manager with direct responsibility for the accurate and efficient time keeping and billing processes in our organization.

The Accounting Manager will supervise several accounting team members for the billing group as well as the timekeeping group at our corporate office, ensuring that his or her groups are providing exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers.

Billing

• Responsible for overseeing day-to-day supervision and training of Billing Coordinators including hiring, developing, coaching and mentoring, and conducting performance appraisals.
• Responsible for performing duties of Billing Coordinators as required due to absence, abnormal workload, or any reason necessary to maintain the objectives of department.
• Responsible for overseeing daily electronic billing.
• Overseeing the preparation of monthly client accruals as requested by customers.
• Responsible for overseeing purchase order maintenance and tracking spend as required by customers.
• Responsible for overseeing the completion of SOFA forms as requested by customers.
• Tracking weekly amounts billed and reporting issues to CFO when necessary.
• Responsible for creating monthly unbilled revenue report and ensuring issues are resolved timely so that items can be billed.

Timekeeping

• Responsible for day-to-day supervision and training of Timekeepers including hiring, developing, coaching and mentoring, and conducting performance appraisals.
• Responsible for performing duties of Timekeepers as required due to absence, abnormal workload, or any reason necessary to maintain the objectives of department.
• Track manager approvals and ensure that downloads are processed timely.
• Track weekly time exceptions and ensure that all are cleared timely.
• Track weekly billing allocations and ensure that all are done timely.
• Participate in training, on boarding process for new CDMS timekeeping sites, and other meetings as required by customer.
• Work with customer CDMS Administrators to ensure that UP is meeting and exceeding customer expectations.

Desired Skills: 
The ideal Accounting Manager will have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required or equivalent experience.
• 7 to 10 years of experience in an accounting or finance department .
• 3 to 5 years of supervisory experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• The ability to work in a team environment and collaborate cross departmentally.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to pay attention to details.
• Precise interpersonal communication skills and ability to manage confidential information appropriately.
• The ability to work independently on assigned tasks as well as to accept direction on given assignments.
• Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
• The ability to ascertain and meet the company and client’s needs with innovative solutions
• The ability to participate in UP’s Business Continuity Team in the event of business interruption due to natural disaster or other emergency.
