Job Description: 
• Should have industrial experience – manufacturing, petro chemical, refining or construction.
• Should have extensive experience negotiating contracts.

The Buyers will be expected to:
• Purchase and expedite delivery of raw materials, equipment, supplies, spare parts, and services to maintain continuous plant operations.
• Negotiate contracts, and/or purchase agreements for raw materials, spare parts, supplies, services and equipment for new projects under the direction of management.
• Communicate with all departments to fill their purchasing needs and to inform them of order status.
• Participate in supplier audits.
• Review invoices to make sure of tax credit, correct terms, price and quantity.
• Audit all purchase orders and requisitions for clear, correct, specific information.
• Compile, store and retrieve purchasing records.
• Represents the Plant and/or Management in community, business, and/or professional organizations as requested by Management.
• Maintain approved supplier list.
• Order raw materials and packaging supplies based on compliance with specifications from approved suppliers.
• Monitor supplier performance.
• Investigate and report all quality incidents and take appropriate corrective/preventive action.
• Meet with suppliers to encourage quality at the best possible cost.
• Strive to keep up with industry advances, new products, new ideas, and ways of doing business.
• Negotiate best possible price consistently maintaining quality and service requirements.
• Submit cost reduction suggestions.
Desired Skills: 
The ideal Buyers will have:
• HS Diploma or equivalent.
• BS in a related field is highly preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement or a related field.
• Experience with contract negotiations.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to work under deadlines/pressure while maintaining a good working relationship with all levels of personnel and management.
• Good organizational skills.
• Professional attitude and appearance.
