LONG TERM CONTRACT NEED IN SWEENY

ELECTRICAL ENGINEER


We need an Electrical Engineer to support small to medium sized capital projects.

The Electrical Engineer will be expected to:

• Support the electrical design effort by providing detailed electrical engineering support of existing plants and infrastructure facilities.
• Provide project engineering support during conception, design, and execution.
• Assist with investigation and failure analysis of electrical equipment failures.
• Work with Operations and Maintenance to understand failure mechanism and develop repair strategy appropriate for reliable operation.
• Recommend alternate scope or alternate electrical design solutions when appropriate.
• Work with other disciple engineers as appropriate for new design or repair strategies.
• Design and implement cost effective equipment modifications to help improve safety and reliability.
• Analyze design specifications, manuals, proposals, and other data to evaluate the cost, feasibility, and maintenance requirements.
• Analyzes and test the design, operation, and performance of equipment, components, and systems.
• Prepare specifications for purchase of electrical components and materials.
• Obtain vendor quotes and providing technical support for procurement process for equipment.
• Develop cost estimates and submit bids for engineering, construction, or turnaround projects, and prepare contract documents.
• Provide technical assistance for commissioning, start-up, and troubleshooting operational systems while supporting maintenance.
• Conduct and/or participate in technical reviews of specifications, designs, codes, and other requirements.
• Provide quality checks of packages and cross-checking between design disciplines.
• Evaluate engineering approaches and risks to produce and progress development plans.
• Design test control equipment and procedures for testing.
• Assist with the commissioning of new electrical equipment.
• Incorporate reliability best practices in job plans.
Desired Skills: 
The ideal Electrical Engineer will have:

• Safety Champion – portrays a personal example of excellent safety, performance, mindset and commitment.
• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering field.
• 5 – 10 years’ experience as electrical engineer in petro-chemical industry.
• Knowledge in electrical equipment.
• Proficiency in reading drawings, blueprints, isometrics, P&IDs, etc.
• The ability to understand field changes and red-line drawings.
• Strong communication skills, problem solving skills, time management skills and teamwork/interpersonal skills.
• Some skill in CAD programs.
• Intermediate skills in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Familiar with MOC process & PSSR (pre-startup safety reviews) process.
• The ability to handle multiple jobs and projects simultaneously.
