ELECTRICAL PROJECT MANAGER - NEW ORLEANS, LA LOCATION

We need an Electrical Project Manager for an electrical power solutions company – direct hire/staff position with:

The Electrical Project Manager will work closely with clients and manufacturers – needs to understand schematics / drawings, track changes, track PO’s and ensure the project is being delivered as specified.

The Electrical Project Manager will possess an ability to manage a multitude of tasks related to the following with little need for supervision:

• Works with Technical Support Team to identify and understand customer specifications.
• Works under deadlines and effectively prioritizes tasks.
• Manages and executes internal and external order entry meetings.
• Keeps track of project accounting and correctly updates costing sheets.
• Communicates production schedules as provided by Project Control and effectively expedites project details.
• Manages integration of numerous component products to a successful inspection and shipment.
• Communicates effectively and timely to both customers and suppliers throughout project life cycle.

The Electrical Project Manager will be expected to:

• Take initiative and ownership of tasks to efficiently progress projects without unnecessary efforts, costs, communication or delays.
• Create and manage individual project schedules, costing sheets and change orders, and maintain updated reports as project needs and requirements change during its duration.
• Keep project control documents updated in the database.
• Identify resources needed and facilitates vendor communication.
• Manage day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope with an ability to recognize potential issues before they become problematic.
• Review deliverables prepared by team before passing to client.
• Minimize company exposure and risk on project.
• Ensure project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately.
• Work with Sales to develop a communication strategy for project issues.
• Coordinate with Project Fulfillment to ensure smooth transition when project equipment ships and is installed and commissioned.
Desired Skills: 
The ideal Electrical Project Manager will have:

• BS in Electrical Engineering
• 3 – 10 years of experience.
• Oil and gas industry experience – refinery, petrochemical, upstream, or midstream.
• High voltage power projects experience is a plus.
