I&E Maintenance Engineer needed for Contract Assignment in Freeport, TX

• No Per Diem offered
• No Relocation Assistance
• TWIC Card Required
• Duration - Anticipated to last 1 year or longer

The I&E Maintenance Engineer is a position that provides engineering support in order to assist in the resolution of plant issues which impact production. The position provides technical expertise (equipment based and/or repair technique based) in order to impact the availability and maintainability of the facility.

The I&E Maintenance Engineer will:
• Perform work activities efficiently while continuously looking for cost-saving opportunities.
• Work with project engineering to develop scope through implementation of instrument/controls projects.
• Work with block Maintenance Engineers to verify project support is as provided and is acceptable to the operating units.
• Work with block Maintenance Engineers to support daily operations as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned or needed.

• Demonstrate the belief that accidents are preventable by including safety in assigned work activities.
• Create and share personal safety plan with work group.
• Participate in safety meetings.
• Demonstrate understanding of and verifies compliance with safety standards, work practices, work permit requirements, and various safety systems.
• Trained to safely access field areas to observe work being performed.
• Trained in site safety requirements.
• Trained in use of standard PPE (hard hat, gloves, eye, and hearing protection).
• Understands and comply with Drug and Alcohol Policy.
Desired Skills: 
The ideal I&E Maintenance Engineer will have:

• Safety Champion – portrays a personal example of excellent safety, performance, mindset, and commitment.
• BA/BS Electrical Engineering.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience in instrument and electrical project and design experience in the chemical/petrochemical industries.
• Excellent technical and problem solving.
• Analytical skills.
• Experience with Lean Six Sigma Principles.
• SAP experience preferred.
• InTools experience preferred.
• DCS/PLC - Honeywell. Foxboro, A/B , Triconex, Hima, etc. experience preferred.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of general principles, concepts, theories, and practices of applicable discipline.
