Job Description: 
Maintenance and Projects Planner needed in St. James, LA

Details:
• Per-diem not offered
• Start Date: ASAP
• Estimated Project Duration: Long-term need
• Supporting: Maintenance & Projects Group
• Workspace: 30% field and 70% office
• Schedule: 4/10’s with limited overtime
• Planning software experience: Planning and ordering in SAP and light scheduling in Excel required
• Background: Pipefitter/ Millwright Field background

We’re looking for a Maintenance and Projects Planner who will be responsible for:

• Perform work activities efficiently while continuously looking for cost-saving Opportunities.
• Follow plant safety guidelines and policies which include wearing fire retardant clothing and other personal protective equipment as applicable.
• Participate in tenet minutes and safety meetings daily prior to field execution of Jobs.
• Comply with environmental, health, safety, and government regulations while performing job duties.
• Plan environmental, health, safety programs and LDAR jobs.
• Identify/solicit safety information and requirements necessary to safely perform tasks.
• Plan detailed procedures/job packages for safe startup, shutdown, and normal operations of chemical plant equipment.
• Use "quality feedback" from the maintenance craft persons to optimize that archived plans.
• Plan jobs using the Maintenance Work Process to provide the businesses with the required plant availability at minimum related cost in a safe and environmentally sound manner.
• Create value added work orders using advanced trouble shooting and work order priority evaluation skills.
• Review work orders for technical completeness and return work orders to gatekeeper if not complete.
• Complete field checks.
• Identify task activities necessary to execute job plan.
• Identify materials, tools, equipment required to perform tasks.
• Prepare job packages and input plan into SAP indicating the required resources, materials, and services.
• Verify materials availability and once confirmed, store jobs in active backlogs.
• Accurately and thoroughly document job activities using scheduling tools (Microsoft Excel and/or Primavera).
• Use, where possible, an archived plan for basis of actual job plans.
• Record task/information within the work order.
• Archive repetitive job plans.
• Communicate effectively with operators on shift, Shift Activity Coordinator, Gate Keeper, Work Activity Coordinators, and Reliability Engineers daily Provide feedback and support to the MRO, PPM, and spare parts programs.
• Perform other duties as assigned or needed
Desired Skills: 
The ideal Maintenance and Projects Planner will have:

• Active TWIC card
• Strong Piping/Millwright Field Background
• 5+ years of Planning experience in a Refinery / Petrochemical environment
• SAP Planning experience is a must and Scheduling in Excel
• Well rounded in all aspects of planning maintenance jobs at a small site
