MAINTENANCE SUPERINTENDENT

• Direct Hire / Staff Position


We’re looking for a Maintenance Superintendent who will focus on: recommending capital improvements, directing all plant maintenance activities, minimizing production downtime, facility maintenance, meeting cost objectives/performance standards/operating procedures

The Maintenance Superintendent will be expected to:

• Direct and coordinate the maintenance operations and assure that duties are performed in accordance with established procedures.
• Develop the capital expenditure program for the plant.
• Prepare and recommend budgets, monthly expense forecasts; review expense variances and take corrective action as required.
• Direct the preparation of the Plant Equipment Condition Survey.
• Coordinate maintenance activities with production units in order to minimize production losses and ensure effective utilization of manpower and facilities.
• Coordinate activities with Plant Safety to ensure the presence of an effective safety program and departmental compliance with MSHA, EPA, etc.
• Establish manning levels and operating procedures with assistance from Mechanical Maintenance General Supervisor, Planner/Scheduler and Utilities and Plant Services Superintendent.
• Direct the addition and deletion of store inventory items and assure that proper inventory levels are maintained.
• Assure that the preventive maintenance program is functioning according to procedures.
• Coordinate responsibilities for labor relations and equal employment opportunity including interface with Labor Relations in the second step of the grievance procedure and the maintenance of a discriminating and harassment free work environment.

Desired Skills: 
The ideal Maintenance Superintendent will have:

• 10+ years of related experience.
• BS in a related field is preferred but not required.
