Job Description: 
Mechanical Piping PLANNER needed in Norco, LA

• Estimated Duration: 6 months with possibility to go longer.
• Per Diem is not being offered.
• Full Benefits.
• Work Schedule: 9/80 (every other Friday off) with limited overtime.
• An active TWIC card.

We need a Mechanical Piping Planner who will be responsible for:

• Perform work activities efficiently while continuously looking for cost-saving opportunities.
• Review drawings to investigate scope items.
• Perform field walk down of scope items to visually investigate scope.
• Develop detailed job plans and estimated costs including resource requirements for each step, safety plans, job steps, durations material and equipment needs, and cost estimates.
• Knowledgeable of and maintains a copy of turnaround procedures.
• Coordinate planning resources in accordance with turnaround specifications, cost estimates, schedules, safety requirement, quality requirements, various procedures, standards, practices, etc.
• Work with Scheduler and Execution to provide general coordination and monitor the progress of turnaround activities per the job plans and worklists.
• Coordinate multi-craft job plans with other specific craft planners.
• Update plans with any approved change orders and develops new plans that arise during the turnaround as requested by client.
• Communicate daily with execution supervision and other contractors during various phases of the turnaround to understand the effectiveness of the plan and to get buy-in.
• Analyze and recommend resolutions of work problems and Execution in solving work problems.
• Adjust plans with feedback from Execution.
• Walk down Job Packages and verify scope items with prints/drawings.
Desired Skills: 
The ideal Turnaround Planner will have:

• 5+ years’ experience as a turnaround planner in petro-chemical industry.
• Primavera experience is a plus – but not required.
• Extensive knowledge of pipe fitting, welding, boiler making, techniques and interpretation.
• Proficiency in reading mechanical drawings, blueprints, isometrics, P&IDs.
• The ability to understand field changes and red-line drawings.
• The ability to coordinate various mechanical resources according to schedule and plan.
• Good teamwork, interpersonal skills, and ability to work with multiple workgroups.
• The ability to communicate quickly and effectively.
• Intermediate skills in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Experience with MOC process and PSSR (pre-startup safety reviews) process.
• Basic safety training and/or site-specific training.
• A Safety Champion mindset – portrays a personal example of excellent safety, performance, and commitment.
