MECHANICAL PLANNER needed in the Baton Rouge Area

• Estimated Duration: 2 year contract position with the possibility for a 1 year extension
• Per Diem is Not being offered
• Full Benefits
• Schedule: 9/80 Work Schedule
• Piping Background Needed

We’re looking for a Mechanical Planner in the Baton Rouge area who will be responsible for some of the following:
• Performing work activities efficiently while continuously looking for cost-saving opportunities
• Developing detailed job plans including resource requirements, safety plans, job steps, durations material, and equipment needs and cost estimates.
o Resource requirements
o Safety plans
o Job steps and procedures
o Drawings and specifications
o Tasks durations
o Material and equipment needs
• Coordinating planning resources in accordance with project specifications, cost estimates, schedules, safety requirement, quality requirements, various procedures, standards, practices, etc.
• Working with Scheduler and Execution to provide general coordination and monitor the progress of project activities per the job plans and worklists.
• If other craft specific planners are on project, then coordinating multi-craft job plans with them.
• Updating plans with any approved change orders and develops new plans that arise during the project as requested by Client.
• Communicating daily with execution supervision during various phases of the turnaround to understand effectiveness of plan.
• Analyzing and recommending resolutions of work problems and execution in solving work problems.
• Adjusting plans with feedback from Execution.
• Walking down Job Packages and verifying with prints / drawings.
• Participating in planning and scheduling Peer Assists.
Desired Skills: 
The ideal Mechanical Planner will have:
• 3 – 5 years of experience.
• Refinery / Petrochemical experience.
• An active TWIC card.
