Job Description: 
TECHNICAL WRITER NEEDED IN MONT BELVIEU, TX

The Technical Writer will be responsible for: helping revise the department’s safety standards for their mechanical work practices. They will be responsible for reformatting them, and seeing that they flow better and linked more efficiently for reference.

Responsibilities Include:

• Reformatting technical documents for the safety teams development.
• Creating overall systems documentation as well as producing user documentation.
• Applying project templates in order to develop job task inventories, training guides, manuals, operating procedures, self-study questions.
• Interpreting business process, process narrative, process flow diagrams, and associated technical drawings, and referencing materials in order to determine the simplest set of instructions for completing a specific task.
• Developing and incorporating supporting graphics plan and gathering static and dynamic date using multiple methods and organize information for analysis.
• Self-editing documents for grammar, punctuation, spelling and content accuracy, reviewing content organization and information flow for continuity and consistency as well as verifying all graphics support the document text.
• Participating in meetings and using established protocols for resolving questions and issues with SME.
• Completing document tracking charts as well as reviewing monthly project status reports and other quality tools as necessary.
• Performing company related tasks including time reports and other requirements as necessary.
• Conducting technical and editorial reviews of documentation and materials as developed.
• Writing end-user and internal knowledge base content and self-service training materials (conceptual and procedural based writing) which describe the functionality of internal operational and mechanical tools, systems, and applications.
Desired Skills: 
The ideal Technical Writer will have:

• Background in refinery/ chemical industry.
• Worked within mechanical safety standards.
• Background on owner/operator side.
• Active TWIC card
