Three Positions Open
• Estimated Project Duration: 1 Year
• Work Schedule: 50 Hours/Week
We need Permit Writers to Coordinate: Confined Space Permits & Hot Work Permits

The Permit Writers will support refinery projects, write and issue permits in accordance with the plant’s project schedules, plans and standards.
• Write and issue permits.
• Specify the appropriate PPE for associated job hazards.
• Perform jobsite assessments of planned work activities.
• Identify safety provisions required for work permitting.
• Prepare processing equipment for mechanical work.
• Intervene to mitigate safety concerns.
• Complete blinding lists.
• Verify quality assurance of work permits.
• Assist with permitting closeout process.
• Effectively communicate with mechanical workers.
• Update operations shift logs and communicate to shift relief.
• Attend daily permit planning meetings.
• Review job hazard analysis (JSA).
Desired Skills: 
The ideal Permit Writers will have:
• 3+ years of experience in working with operating equipment, hydrocarbons, chemicals, etc.
• Knowledge of operating units and associated equipment being permitted.
• The ability to qualify on unit operations.
• Experience in writing and issuing work permits including: hot work, entry work, general mechanical work.
• Experience in performing various gas testing.
• Experience in processing equipment isolation procedures.
• Experience in sampling and testing process streams.
• The ability to understand facilities production processes.
• Proficiency in reading P&IDs, unit flow diagrams.
• Experience with Manage of Change (MOC) procedures.
• A basic understanding of math skills.
• Good teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Basic safety training and/or site-specific training.
• Safety Champion mindset – portrays a personal example of excellent safety, performance, and commitment.
