Job Description: 
Piping Designer needed in Midland, TX

The Piping Designer will report to the Supervisor of Design Services and work closely with the Project Manager, Field Engineering, Operations, and Maintenance on multiple projects to coordinate the development of projects from inception to completion. They will provide and track the exchange of information to stakeholders including the corporate design team, third party engineering contractors, installation contractors, and operations related to the areas of design and drafting in order to verify relevant and necessary Company or industry standard specifications are followed.

The ideal Piping Designer will:

• Provide standardized PFD/P&ID symbology for drawing development.
• Provide/Verify electrical equipment and instrument tagging numbers.
• Initiate and provide new Facility Codes for grass root facility projects.
• Resolve drawing development issues.
• Work with third parties to identify existing drawings for editing.
• Review and identify any deviation from the Company standards for drawing development.
• Perform technical and administrative reviews of design packages submitted by third parties to verify compliance with all relevant Company specifications, industry codes and standards, and accepted practices.
• Review project “Issued” drawings.
• Review project “As-Built” drawings.
• Prepare process flow diagrams (PFD), piping & instrument diagrams (P&ID), general equipment layouts, facility plot plans, and equipment and instrument lists for various company plant, pipeline, and related facilities construction projects.
• Assist in the development of project scopes, engineering/design scopes, and construction scopes of work for use in the establishment of contracts with third parties.
• Attend project meetings to obtain full understanding of customer needs and scope definitions and to provide technical input toward efficient and effective designs.
• Assist in the review of man hour estimates and work schedules in order to verify efficiency in the execution of projects.
• Coordinate the distribution of design packages related to projects in order to verify stakeholders are allowed input and necessary information is exchanged.
• Provide design and drafting services for time/budget critical projects.
• Provide design and drafting services associated with the preliminary development of potential projects.
Desired Skills: 
The Piping Designer will have:

• 10+ years’ experience
• Piping/Supervising experience
• Midstream experience a plus
