Job Description: 
Process Engineer needed in Three Rivers, TX as a contract position hired to work with technical direction, policies, and procedures. They will perform process engineering design in support of capital projects.

The Process Engineer will be responsible for:

• Perform work activities efficiently while continuously looking for cost-saving opportunities.
• Become familiar with operations engineering standards.
• Provide routine performance monitoring of process units and recommend enhancements to procedures and operating guidelines that will improve process unit performance, optimization, and potential risks.
• Work with operations planning team to optimize unit operations, define constraints, and resolve bottleneck issues.
• Monitor performance trends, yield trends, and performance of advanced control loops.
• Participate in process safety activities and update information around flow diagrams, equipment files and piping and instrumentation drawings (P&IDs).
• Participate and facilitate incident investigations.
• Perform research to apply the appropriate engineering principles, standards and codes to meet client’s requirements.
• Assist with investigation and failure analysis of operating unit equipment failures.
• Work with operations and maintenance to understand failure mechanism and develop repair strategy appropriate for reliable operation.
• Study drawings, maps, graphs, diagrams, and other data to identify and correct operating system problems.
• Work with other disciple engineers as appropriate for new design or repair strategies.
• Design and implement cost effective operating modifications to help improve safety and reliability.
• Analyze design specifications, manuals, proposals, and other data to evaluate the cost, feasibility, and maintenance requirements.
• Review drafting design to confirm appropriate specifications were incorporated.
• Analyze and test the design, operation, and performance of equipment, components, and systems.
• Develop cost estimates and submit bids for engineering, construction, or turnaround projects as well as prepare contract documents.
• Assist in the development of operating procedures, maintenance procedures, safety procedures, and service schedules for equipment.
• Assist with solving complex problems with customers, suppliers, and support organizations.
• Conduct and/or participate in technical reviews of specifications, designs, codes, and other requirements.
• Design test control equipment and procedures for testing.
• Prepare and present technical status reviews to client.
• Assist with the commissioning of new operating equipment.
• Work with other professionals and SMEs to obtain input to recommendations.
Desired Skills: 
• Safety Champion – portrays a personal example of excellent safety, performance, mindset, and commitment.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in operation engineering in petrochemical industry.
• Proficient in reading mechanical drawings, blueprints, isometrics, P&IDs, etc.
• High level of technical and scientific knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to practical problems.
• Familiar with 3D modeling and design.
• Ability to understand field changes and red-line drawings.
• Advances computer skill in computer-aided design.
• Intermediate/advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Familiar with MOC process & PSSR (pre-startup safety reviews) process.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Good teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Can handle multiple jobs and projects simultaneously.
