We need a Project Controls Cost Analyst to support the pipeline organization on capital portfolio projects for the next 2-3 years.
The Project Controls Cost Analyst will be expected to:
• Perform work activities efficiently while continuously looking for cost-saving opportunities.
• Participate in the review and approval of Front End Loading funding requests and TIC estimates.
• Distribute approved project’s budget to baseline Work Breakdown Structure according to the project’s execution and contracting plan.
• Verify individual project’s cost and schedule forecast are aligned in the master schedule.
• Assist the Project Manager in change notice reviews.
• Assist the Project Manager with contingency management.
• Attend site capital projects meetings and assist with determination of project controls requirements.
• Effectively and accurately communicate relevant project controls information to the project team.
• Work directly with key stakeholders, project managers, and project engineers at their respective locations or within their business area to answer questions and resolve issues pertaining to Project Controls.
• Prepare reports and presentations associated with the above requirements.
• Work closely with the Capital Portfolio Controller, members of the Capital Projects team, and Financial Analysts within the business.
• Work with the turnaround teams for both large and small capitalized turnarounds doing daily cost reporting and cost projections.
Desired Skills: 
The ideal Cost Analyst will have:
• A Safety Champion mindset – portrays a personal example of excellent safety, performance, and commitment.
• Bachelor of Science Degree in Construction Engineering or equivalent.
• 3 – 5 years of experience in the chemical, refining, or other industrial manufacturing industries.
• 3 – 5 years of related work experience in project controls, scheduling, or cost engineering.
• 3 – 5 years of Primavera P6 experience and scheduling in a construction environment is an asset.
• Previous capital project experience from working in a chemical plant, a refinery, oil and gas production, construction of major facilities, power generation or public infrastructure is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and time management skills.
• Advanced computer skill in computer-aided design.
• Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Good teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Basic safety training and/or site-specific training.
