Job Description: 
Project Controls Specialist Needed for Detroit, MI

• Estimated Project Duration: Through October 2018.
• TWIC Card Required.
• Per Diem Offered.
• Work Schedule: Average 45-50 hours/week.

We need a Project Controls Specialist to perform all cost control and estimating functions relating to Construction, Small & Mid-sized Capital Projects. The Project Controls Specialist will work with the staff project controls group to maintain consistent reporting. More hours may be required during Turnaround phase.

The Project Controls Specialist will be expected to:

• Perform as the project controls/ cost control representative for the Construction Team.
• Perform in a lead cost control role for the Construction Team.
• Prepare weekly reports for the Construction Team.
• Develop Project Estimates and variances to budget by Expense type.
• Prepare all cost forecasts for each individual project.
• Facilitate the hiring and rental plan process.
• Create all charge numbers and Project ID’s.
• Create and Maintain charge matrix for the team.
• Create entries in Cost system for all lump sum and plug figures.
• Provide final cost allocation breakdown to PC Supervisor.
• Work with Capital and TAPIT WHSE to resolve material issues.
• Work with the warehouse to provide accurate material forecasts.
• Provides updates to management as required.
• Monitor growth / contingency drawdown during execution.
• Provide final cost allocation breakdown.
• Review and approve invoices as required.
• Monitors actual earned value, productivity, direct/ indirect ratios, etc.
• Communicate with Accounting to close out month for TA and misc. accruals.
Desired Skills: 
The ideal Project Controls Specialist will have:

• A Safety Champion mindset and commitment – portrays a personal example of excellent safety performance.
• 5+ years working in a cost control position on major petrochemical projects.
• Proficiency in SAP.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Access, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Experience working with database and Primavera scheduling.
• Experience building reports in EXCEL and making presentations updates to leadership team.
• Good people and networking skills.
• The ability to work well with other managers and supervisors.
• Good teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to maintain the confidentiality of financial information.
