Quality Control Manager – El Dorado, Arkansas

• Contract Position through end of 2018

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform work activities efficiently while continuously looking for cost-saving opportunities
• Become knowledgeable in the Client’s quality control documents, guidelines, requirements, and work practices
• Assist in writing a combined turnaround process work flow and quality assurance process for contractors
• Review contractors QA/QC processes and determine KPI’s
• Responsible for reviewing document, attending meetings, conducting walk-through inspections, and investigating non-compliant conditions
• Extensive knowledge of various mechanical skills (pipe fitting, welding, boiler making, electrical, rotating equipment, instrumentation, X-ray techniques and interpretation)
• Ability to understand field changes and red-line drawings
• Extensive knowledge of industry quality control standards and practices
• Knowledgeable of and maintains a copy of Client’s Quality Control Plan
• Work with Scheduler and Execution to provide general coordination and monitor the progress of turnaround activities requiring quality support
• Analyze and recommend resolutions of work problems and assist Execution in solving work problems
• Review welder papers for compliance
• Provide quality findings to appropriate Execution Coordinator/Planner
• Provide coordination to the site-specific quality control plan
• Attend pre-planning, pre-installation, and progress meetings
• Monitor and coordinate quality programs
• Create punchlists from pre-start up safety reviews as required
• Perform routine walk through observations of job sites to verify compliance with the quality plan, instructions and industry standards
• Walk down Job Packages and verify with prints/drawings

Qualifications & Skills for Success:

• Safety Champion – portrays a personal example of excellent safety, performance, mindset, and commitment
• Must be currently API 510 certified, plus one other API certification (570, 653,571, etc.) at a minimum
• Minimum 5+ years of quality related experience in refining or the petro-chemical industry
• Ability to coordinate various quality support resources according to schedule and plan
• Proficient in reading mechanical drawings, blueprints, isometrics, P&IDs
• Understanding of material and field-testing for QA processes
• Good teamwork, interpersonal skills, and ability to work with multiple workgroups
• Intermediate skills in MS Word, Excel, & Outlook
• Knowledgeable at reading P6 schedules or equivalent
• Familiar with MOC process and PSSR (pre-startup safety reviews) process
• Basic safety training and/or site-specific training
• Willing to work off-shift schedule, extended hours, and weekends

• Demonstrate the belief that accidents are preventable by including safety in assigned work activities
• Create and share personal safety plan with work group and client
• Facilitate and participate in safety meetings
• Demonstrate understanding of and verifies compliance with safety standards, work practices, work permit requirements, and various safety systems
• Trained to safely access field areas to observe work being performed
• Trained/fit-tested on usage of SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus) equipment and various respirators
• Trained in use of standard PPE (hard hat, gloves, eye, and hearing protection)
• Trained to access scaffolds and ladders using fall protection PPE
• Trained in Client’s permitting system and to receive job permits for themselves
• Understands and comply with client’s Drug and Alcohol Policy
