Job Description: 
TAR MECHANICAL PLANNER needed for a Plant in GEISMAR, LA

• Estimated Project Duration: 6 months with the potential to go longer.
• Supporting: Turnaround group.
• Experience: 3+ years in a planning role in a chemical/refinery preferred.
• Background: Piping & Heat Exchanger experience.
• Software experience: Maximo experience is a plus.
• Schedule: 9/80 with overtime opportunities.
• Full Benefits offered.
• Active TWIC card needed.

We’re looking for a TAR Mechanical Planner who will be responsible for:

• Developing systems to monitor and recording compliance with the maintenance plans.
• Producing both routine and exception reports covering maintenance planning issues.
• Reporting planning compliance issues to maintenance management and thereafter working with affected parties in order to reach a solution.
• Updating BOM’s and the task list in the CMMS database with changes identified by system users or as a result of plant modifications.
• Reviewing the CMMS database in order to verify it is complete and accurate and thereafter updating where necessary.
• Identifying opportunities to extend the coverage of the CMMS database.
• Verifying links between the CMMS and other external systems are maintained.
• Acting as a resource in CMMS functionality and identifying opportunities for the maintenance department in order to extend its use of the system.
• Assisting with the operation of day to day maintenance work control and management systems.
• Developing detailed work schedules in MS Project for significant maintenance tasks or projects.
• Contributing to the organizational vision of Global Methanol Leadership and as a team member demonstrating the core values of integrity, trust, respect, and professionalism.
Desired Skills: 
The ideal TAR Mechanical Planner will have:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working in an industrial maintenance environment is preferred.
• Mechanical experience/knowledge of rotating equipment and static equipment.
• The ability to read a plot plan, P&IDs, Piping and other Specifications, Procedures, Isometrics.
• The ability to effectively communicate with a wide cross section of people.
• An understanding of maintenance job planning and scheduling techniques.
• Expert user experience of Microsoft Office products.
• Experienced user of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems. (Development and configuration experience would be an advantage. Previous Maximo use would be an advantage.)
• Familiarity with work scheduling software such as Microsoft Project or Primavera.
• Familiarity with “Business Intelligence” tools and reporting systems.
• Experienced with industrial maintenance practices and systems.
