Job Description: 
ELECTRICAL ENGINEER

• Long Term Contract Need
• 9-80 Work Schedule
• 40-50 Hours/Week on Average


We need an Electrical Engineer – with a good mix of electrical and instrumentation experience – to act as the Technical Support Engineer and be the primary interface with the Business Development Team. The Electrical Engineer will coordinate project activities on pipeline projects throughout Texas. The Electrical Engineer will help develop work scopes and electrical packages for new projects, coordinate the priority of competing projects, and steward project development.

The Electrical Engineer will be expected to:

• Interface between the Commercial Business Development team and the various Pipeline Project teams.
• Promote safety leadership and participate in safety processes.
• Assist the site Pipeline, Analyzer and I/E Maintenance Team Leaders as an engineering resource.
• Serve on root cause failure analysis and incident investigation teams.
• Assist with developing detailed work scopes for engineered projects.
• Assist with developing maintenance work procedures and preventive maintenance procedures.
• Demonstrate knowledge of NEC, NESC, NFPA 70B, and NFPA 70E.
• Working knowledge of power system analysis and protective relays.
• Help investigate instrument failures and make recommendations to eliminate further occurrences.
• Participate in Process Safety Management process.

Desired Skills: 
The ideal Electrical Engineer will have:

• BS in Electrical Engineering.
• 1 – 5 years of maintenance field experience in pipeline, chemical, refining or industrial manufacturing. (5 years is preferred.)
• Exceptionally strong communication skills, drive, sense of urgency and problem-solving abilities will be critical for the success of this individual and are required.
• The skills of a change agent and have demonstrated success in implementing engineering processes and procedures.

Electrical experience in the following is preferred: SEL software, troubleshooting motor controls 480 through 4160 volts, size conduits, cables for motors, MCCs, feeders, etc., the ability to calculate arc flash values, work with outside vendors on coordination, load flow, arc flash and other studies related to the plant electrical system Instrumentation experience in the following is preferred: AB & GE PLCs, troubleshooting instrumentation loops from field, design and program control and interlock systems, configure OMNI Flow Computers, setting up SCADA data packages.
