We’re looking for a Project Engineer with strong mechanical background focused in tank refurbishment and new construction.

The Project Engineer will be expected to:
• Assist in the areas of coordination associated with tank refurbishing, cleaning and repair, tracking and managing scope change logs, and construction RFI tracking.
• Develop project scopes, generate and obtain cost estimates, and prepare specific tank repair project objectives.
• Verify appropriate project safety reviews are being implemented and followed per the safety procedures.
• Recommend solutions, preliminary justification, time frame, funding limitations, staffing requirements, etc.
• Maintain a familiarity with P&ID’s and working with EPC contractors on mechanical equipment and piping isometric drawing approvals.
• Organize and coordinate project staff meetings according to project requirements in order to develop definitive engineering documentation deliverables.
• Review vendor fabrication drawings for approval per specifications.
• Compile information and develop bid packages and support drawings.
• Develop written project execution work plans with cost estimates and schedules for each phase of a project.
• Develop contractor field quotes for material and labor for Purchase Order requisitions.
• Coordinate project personnel activities in order to verify the project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget.
• Review status reports with revised cost estimates and schedules as requested.
• Provide technical advice in order to support project problem resolution during design and field execution activities.
• Prepare written reports and updates for management, client, and/or others.
• Review estimates with the estimator, project schedules with the project scheduler, and actual and forecast spending with the project cost controller.
• Conduct regular and routine visits to project sites in order to monitor construction progress, compliance with safety requirements, and project requirements.
• Work with craft contractors to coordinate field work with construction coordinators.
Desired Skills: 
The ideal Project Engineer will have:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering or chemical engineering in petro-chemical industry preferred.
• Knowledge of various mechanical skills (pipe fitting, welding, boiler making, electrical, rotating equipment, instrumentation).
• High level of proficiency in reading mechanical drawings, blueprints, isometrics, P&IDs, etc.
• High level of technical and scientific knowledge and the ability to apply this knowledge to practical problems.
• High level of proficiency with 3D modeling and design.
• The ability to understand field changes and red-line drawings.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving and time management skills.
• Advanced computer skill in computer-aided design.
• Advanced skills in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• High level of proficiency with MOC process and PSSR (pre-startup safety reviews) process.
• Good teamwork and interpersonal skills.
