CONTRACT / CATEGORY SPECIALIST NEEDED FOR POSITION IN THE GOLDEN TRIANGLE
• Estimated Project Duration: 1 Year – Possibility to go Longer
• 9-80 Work Schedule


We need a senior-level experienced candidate to perform in a Contract / Category Specialist role supporting refinery projects by:
• Performing work activities efficiently while continuously looking for cost-saving opportunities.
• Supporting the capital projects site lead in the acquisition of goods and services with proactive contract management for categories of goods and services in the category.
• Maintaining active involvement in the procurement of local specific materials and services and offsite repairs at the direction of the site lead, contracts, and procurement.
• Providing interface between capital project operations and the location verifying the requisition to pay needs and processes are fulfilled.
• Developing local contracting strategies and implement contract management plans.
• Tracking monthly savings targets against annual goals.
• Mentoring buyers to promote growth for potential future roles.
• Supporting the capital projects site lead in developing category strategies and contracts within the site and cluster.
• Supporting the capital projects site lead by soliciting RFP’s, RFI’s, market analysis, counter estimates, and negotiating agreements.
• Supporting the capital site lead by developing and maintaining required (management) reports, spend analysis and reporting value improvements.
• Supporting the capital projects site lead in registering and amending contracts in SAP, Ariba, and other electronic tools.
• Supporting the capital projects site lead by communicating with vendors and (internal) customers.
• Supporting the capital projects site lead by obtaining information required by the category managers.
Desired Skills: 
The ideal Contract / Category Specialist will have:

• A Safety Champion mindset – portrays a personal example of excellent safety, performance, mindset, and commitment.
• 10+ years of experience in a buyer or procurement/purchasing specialist role.
• BS in a related field.
• The ability to work well with other multi-disciplines crews, planners, and execution coordinators.
• Good teamwork and interpersonal skills.
• Intermediate skills in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Basic safety training and/or site-specific training.
